Ok so in the past couple of months, Ive had to replace my basking bulb maybe like 7 or 8 times. Ive tried all kinds if bulb from zoomed, zilla, exoterra, store brand. All kinds, they all seem to just burn out. I dont know if its my lamp fixture or what. I currently have 2 60 watt house hold bulbs till i get a new basking bulb. Im just tired of buying bulbs all the time. Fixtures i have came with th zilla started kit i got maybe last year. Id also like to know where can i find a light fixture that would go inside my viv for my uvb tube. Instead of the one i have on top of the screen cover. Also what would be the best wattage to use for a 75 gal viv. Thanks

It could be either your fixture or your outlet too. Typically the reptile branded basking bulbs dont last very long. Which is a bummer since they are so expensive, and basically no different at all to the non reptile branded bulbs. Just best to order a multipack of normal hardware store bulbs. Ive found the Philips and Sylvania to be the best from my experience, but I dont know if that is the same for others. I bought them online at 1000bulbs.com and think they were about $6 a piece. They usually last about a year or so. As for the best wattage it really depends on your set up and how far the light is from the basking area.

With your UVB light, again it will depend on your enclosure as mounting it inside can sometimes be tricky. You could always get the high output T5 bulbs, which put out a lot more UVB and will project through the screen well.

I have my lights hooked up to the zilla power center. Ill try a different bulb, hopefully ill get a good one. I wanted to mount the uvb bulb inside my viv its a glass tank. Wanted to make it easier to open my lid since they dont have a foldable lid. Thinking about building a custom viv out of wood later in the year when i have time and wantes to reuse the fixtures on that. Thanks for the info tho much apreciated.
