Best Answer or Rating System?

Curious on if this has even been brought up, but had a random thought of a 'Best Answer' or a reply rating system. I could see this being useful on some thread where it is a basic question and you have several people posting different things.
Wouldn't be sure how much of a server load it would be, it has been forever since I have hosted my own phpBB forums. I know phpBB is a pain to mod at times, especially when you have to correct code inside that MOD and update it as you update the main phpBB code, so don't know if that would be reason enough since I have realized you have kept it pretty much stock. That and more options for novice phpBB users can cause for confusion that they are worth, but thought I would bring it up anyway to see.

It has been discussed before and Alex has said he doesn't really want to implement it because it would most likely quickly turn into a popularity contest.

I do think it would be a nice idea for certain threads, but I also understand Alex's reasoning.

I agree with Alex, I know for a fact it would become a popularity contest between the main people who seem to be in a clique. I have seen it happen on other forums I used to frequent.

Yeah, didn't think about it on that note. I completely agree and could see it very well happening that way.

Personal ratings is a good thing IMO and i think its a good thing for any forum to have personally. It lets the people who deserve more recognition for there time subscribed to the site as a poster and a good or bad one at that. Also lets people see if people really know what their talking about, or if they are full of bologna. Im in alliance with this being integrated.
