Belly rub question

I have read all over this forum to soak a beardie in warm water and rub their bellies when they seem to have pooping issues. I got the warm bath down, but Harry will not let me anywhere near his belly. I can rub his sides no issues, but not the belly EVER. Is there a special way to do it? :?: We had a few constipation issues the other day and thankfully Harry was able to poo in the bath. I know his belly was upset and I even believe his vent was sore - he kept soaking in his water/pool but the way he was doing it looked more to soothe his vent. I know that a belly rub may have helped him sooner, but he refuses to let me near it. Any advice will help, please and thank you.

Can you get him to sit on your hand at all, with your fingertips under his belly?

He won't sit in my hand at all. He climbs right up to my shoulder/chest when I pick him up.
