Bedtime Habits!

I'm wondering if you all want to share your bed time routines and your beardy's bedtime quirks!

I think Kira is my cutest sleeper, she looooooves snuggles. Usually I take her out for a bit and let her run around until she comes to me and cuddles down. Today she snuggled up on my neck and did the cutest thing, she stretched her legs out, all of them, just for a split second, it was so cute!! She also is a lip smacker, as she does her beardie wiggle and until she falls asleep she does this content little lip smack, almost like a dog does. She certainly knows how to make mommy turn into a pile of goo. She also loves to burrow in my hair around my neck but I have to be careful with that because she also seems to love to eat my flipping hair.

Mika also likes her snuggles, when she was a baby I used to put her in my shirt to go to sleep, so I could use my laptop without disturbing her so now she likes to lay on my chest, using it as a pillow, wiggle in and get covered with her binky. She's also learned to love beardie burritos!

Lagu has a habit of, once he's in his burrito, moving his head from side to side, as if to make sure he has enough head room. If he doesn't he'll use his nose to push the blanket out on either side before snuggling down. He prefers to be laid on a pillow(He's loved pillows since he was a hatchling) and cuddled that way.

What cute things do your beardies do at bedtime?

I've only been with my adult beardie for about two weeks now but once I take him out in the evening, he'll explore for a while and then somehow find the tightest space he can fit into (last night was between my sneaker and the wall) and just passes out! He fell asleep one time in the groves of the sliding glass door with his just head directly horizontal with the wall!

Every night at 9:00 I kiss them goodnight, tuck them in with their "snugglies" and tell them to have sweet baby lizard dreams. This is after cuddles and discussing "lizard things", of course. We do beardie burritos after bathtime and at bedtime too in the winter. Everyone, including my husband, thinks I have flipped my lid and if it wasn't for this forum I daresay no one would understand where I'm coming from.

Wave has made her point time and time again that at bedtime, she wants alone time. :wink: She'll usually have playtime for 20-30 minutes, where she will snuggle and fall asleep (usually on top of my head). Then, she goes back into her viv, but it's not sleep-time yet - she wants another 15-20 minutes to get settled on her hammock.

She will not let me wrap her up, and she won't go to sleep if I take her out again. What she wants to do is get comfortable on the hammock, then she stares at me from across the room until I get the point, turn out the lights, and cover her with her blanket.

She has a lovely bed, but she won't sleep on it. Has to be the hammock. And she won't sleep until she's covered. But if I try to wrap her, she's going to come out, and I'm going to get glared at again because she's out of the blanket altogether, and can't sleep without a cover! :roll: Silly, picky little thing...

So once she's on her hammock, in a suitable position, and has decided the lights have been on long enough, and I've covered her in exactly the right way, she might, finally, go to sleep!

(There have been many nights when I guess I've covered her the wrong way, and she comes back out, and again there's the glare... She will not sleep. WILL NOT. Until things are perfect in her mind.)

After bath time it is nuggle time. We watch our favorite show for about an hour while he is all burritoed up. I place him on his favorite sleep spot and he is out in no time.

Hehe, Wave sounds a lot like Kira, with everything having to be perfect! haha

After I snuggle Kira to sleep, which takes forever because she has to be in the exact right position(as dictated by herself and herself only, haha), when it`s time to put her in her bed she wakes up again and will snuggle with most of her body on her pillow and her bum hanging down onto her bed, then she wishes to be covered up and to have her back and head rubbed until she`s asleep again. Tonight I had her held in my hand and when I got up she adjusted herself, glared at me, then fell back asleep balancing on my hand, everything went helter skelter when I tried to put her in her bed, she is currently sleeping diagonally in her bed with her blanket over her head.

With Mika and Lagu, once they are asleep, they are asleep! Mika actually decided to go to bed early today, since she`s shedding her head and not quite herself I let her snuggle down. I took her out while I was studying and she managed to wiggle under some bio notes next to my pillow, she stayed there napping for a good two hours before I wrapped her up for the night.

:laughing6: They do sound a lot alike. Bedtime becomes a teeth-gritting session of "WILL YOU JUST GET COMFORTABLE ALREADY?!" They'd be in trouble if they weren't so darn cute... :wink:

Tonight we just kind flicked off the lights and tucked them in super fast and went to go get coffee. When I got back Kira was on her bed, staring out like "Where did you GO? DO IT RIGHT OR NOT AT ALL!" I took her out and laid her on my pillow with her little pillow propping up her head and her blankey over her and rubber her back till she fell asleep. What a little Goober.

midmichicer, I just saw those pictures. What a cutiiiieeee!!! I just wanna snuggle him!!! What is your guys's favorite show? Here at our house we like the Golden Girls or the History Channel for studying/nom times and Doctor Who for, well, every other time ever, haha!!

Puff, my boyfriend gets in on the beardie snugglies, he totally gets it so I'm lucky that way I guess!

Ridgetail that is so cute. The first night I had Kira she kept falling asleep vertically against her tank glass!

Haha all of your bedtime antics sound cute yet funny. Vegeta my little guy will go to one of his sleepy spots in the house which are either under the sofa or behind the tv inbetween the DVDs (two places I struggle getting him out of) and then I know it's his sleepytime so I'll get him cuddled up in his blankie and stroke his back until he's sleeping. Although if I move him or the blanket from over his eyes he'll glare at me and then it's back to the back stroking. I'll normally cuddle him like so for a couple of hours (I love cuddle time) then I'll go to bed, place him in his viv making sure the blankie over his eyes and then I'm a free lady. when I wake up in the mornings he'll still be where I left him wrapped up, I slide over and get him into bed for a snuggly lay in

Well lets see..
Isis likes to be taken out of her cage and held at night. We usually take her out and set her on our bed...she runs a couple laps and licks everything, then she comes back up to my boyfriend and she wiggles into his shirt and falls asleep.

Hades,my little guy, doesnt like to be held, so when the lights go out at night he usually runs around his cage scratching and then he climbs his log and falls asleep vertically, it is so weird.

I just spend a lot of time with my dude's, especially at bedtime. When they are tired they will find a comfy safe spot to sleep, and that just so happens to be on their mommy!

Well, our female is just naturally sweet...my male..it takes time and patience with him hes very skittish
