Hey just have a quick question for anyone who knows. My beardy is going through a shed right now and his front of his head is one part and I have heard him sneeze three times since last night. It is not wheezing when he breathes for sure, and both his nostrils are plugged up whith shedding skin that is trying to let go. I am thinking he is just trying to blow the skin out of his nose, but he also seems to be breathing sometimes like a toad would with his beard expanding a little and going back in when he breathes which I have also chalked up to not being able to breathe out of his nose. If I am wrong though, please someone correct me if he needs a vet. He is eating about 12-15 supers a day with his greens everyday and has been gaining weight every day even since he started the shed last week he has gained 7 grams. Thanks for any help. :)

No big deal dragoon. I highly doubt it is anything serious though just for the simple fact that he is active running around his cage, eating like a pig and going to the bathroom normal still. The only thing that is weird is the 3 sneezes which made me laugh and the toad like breathing from the throat beard. It can't be a URI because there is no humidity in the cage and I don't keep a water bowl in the cage for him just for that reason so I have to just assume it is because his nose is plugged up.

lol of course I do. Not new to beardies at all...just their sneezes. Had dragons for 2 years now and never heard a single one sneeze. just wanted to know if any1 had ever heard their beardy do it and what it meant? :)

Okay, I just did some research, and it says that beardies sneeze because of inhaled dust, or it's trying to blow something out of its nostrils. I would say because your dragon is shedding right now, the area above his nose is probably in his nostril. If it happens once or twice a day, it's nothing to worry about.

Well yes both nostrils r clogged with skin so that would make sense. Might be why he is making his throat puff out like a bull frog when he breathes too. Thanks dragoon.

I would like to make a suggestion.. a soft bristle tooth brush, and in the bath, gently brush the skin away from the nostrils.
I've had that happen before, and used that tooth brush (infant) to dislodge the offending skin.
Hope that helps.
