Hi i've had my dragon for almost 2 months now. When I first got him the lady had told us the tip of his tail was black cause she believes another dragon did it at his previous owners house. But today my mom and I noticed the dark part seems to be spreading, I gave him a bath to see if it would wash off but it doesn't. Is this some type of infection? Please help. The only part that used to be dark is where its like black. The lighter part is what's new.

If it's spreading, it very well could be tail rot. I would take to the vet.

It's weird, because in the top pic it looks really bad but in the bottom two, it looks normal.

I think the lighting in the top pic was better, Im so scared now. I don't really have money for the vet..at this moment

I'm not familiar with tail rot if that is what it is.

You can try posting a topic in beardie ER and see what they say. I hope it's nothing.

I was even wondering if it's possible he could be shedding his tail? He just finished shedding all of his upper body a couple days ago.

I don't think it would be that much of a differnce in color. Hmm... Could be natural. Jace's lower tail is darker than his upper. When I get home from work I can post a pic of his if you like

I would like that, I took more pics today. please ignore my nails, am currently in the middle of washing the rest of the green polish off. Incase it's distracting from looking at my beardie.

It may be a combination, but the tip at the end definitely looks infected, and if it is spreading, it will do so quickly, and could be fatal. There really aren't any home remedies for this - you will have to find a way to get him to a vet, who will likely have to amputate the end of the tail. For the time being, soak it a few times a day for about 15 minutes in warm water with betadine in it (should looks like weak tea). Then put some normal neosporin on it (not the pain relieving kind).

i'm very upset...the lady who sold him to me said that the black tip was fine... I'm absolutely in tears right now cause I feel helpless. I have to wait until my parent gets home.

Hmm...

Doesn't look like shed to me. Looks more like rot. I am not positive though, hopefully someone else will have a suggestion for you.

If nobody can confirm I would definitely take your baby to the vet.

Like Daner said in your other thread, until you can get him to the vet, soak it in Betadine twice a day and put neosporin (no pain formula) on it.

The previous owner was worried too and took him to 2 vets and they both said that it would always be that color and size from him being hurt somehow. She said I can measure it though cause if he's grown it could've naturally got bigger, but I will try what you said and my dad and I are gonna look for a vet tonight.
