Beardies Tail is discoloured HELP!

I have a bearded dragon called George, we got him on friday and have only just noticed that his tail is lighter than the rest of hhis body? his body is an orange colour with black markings whereas his tail is a whiteish grey colour. It starts right from the base of his tail right down to the end. the colour is continueous and he is moving it around just fine. but im still worried. ive given him 2 baths since i got him and the colour isnt changing- he was shedding when we got him but he is all done now and theres no signs of the skin shedding on his tail as the colour is consistant rather than peeling

Any advice?

How old is he?? When they get older it takes much longer for them to shed. Me 4 yr old female will go grey for 2 weeks before it flakes off! Just keep on with a bath every day and im sure he'll be fine. A pic would help to be 100% though!

He is 4-5 months, i just dont want it to drop off!! I read in a few places online their tails can drop off and never grow back?! i hope he is just shedding but the rest of his body is completely done and his tail hasnt done anything, normal?
I maybe be worrying a little too much just dont want him to be unwell or anything!

if it was necrotic and close to falling off, it would be very dark and if you felt it, it would feel like a twig, it feels very different from living tissue!

It sounds like his tail has just not shed. Beardies tend to shed their body parts in stages. Keep up with the baths.. they are great in helping with ease of shed.
Also like Buggsy mentioned... a pic would be great. This way we can determine if it is indeed a shed or something else.

OK, I feel a little more at ease! will give him a good bath tonight when i finish work and take a picture and post it on here in the morning. At first i thiought it was just a joint where it came off as a defence mechanism but its a different colour, i was just a little concerned cause the rest of him had shed and his tail was still this colour :S will post a picture in the morning for you both.

Thanks for your help- my first reptile so im sure im just overly concerned!!

Also his belly feels like its full of air- is this normal- i know it might sound stupid but im not sure how his belly should feel as hes only a baby still (in my eyes!) at 4-5months. im not sure if he is just pushing his sides out so he can be more flat and get more surface area for the heat?! No idea but you can laugh if you like x

Yeah, my baby feels a little bit like an airbag when I pick him up. He also flattens out, called "pancaking" I believe, and that is to get more surface area and also he seems to use it at times as a defense mechanism if I startle him.

You guys are lifesavers think i would have had a nervous breakdown by now without this website. Have taken a pic of his tail and will put it on in the mornin. Am using my mobile at the minute and have no idea how to upload it! Thanks again and will add picture tomorrow. As for him feeling like am airbag i guess thats normal then! Maybe i should call him another name! Ha x
