Beardies laying next to eachother

I had two bearded (not certain on the genders) that would lay next to eachother. I know that laying on one another is a show of dominance, but they would lay side by side. I was curious as to what that might be a sign of. I recently sold one of the two, and the one I still have hasn't been acting as 'chipper' as he once was. Any thoughts?

I know a pair a little hatchlings look supercute when basking together or sleeping together, but , eventually one will start bullying the subservient and this can result in vicious attacks were tails , feet, hands, toes, fingers can be bitten off, the dominant can in some case even kill the tank mate.
Also the subvervient beardie will not be getting as much food as it needs (as the dominant will be getting the lions' share of the bugs) and one will thrive and grow faster than another who will fail to thrive and will be under constant stress.

I would have set up two raring tubs , one for each.

He'll miss his companion (he's lived with companions / siblings all his life) and will take a little while to adjust to being by himself , but will be happier .
