beardies eat goldfish?

I watched a lot of youtube videos of beardies today. Some were downright depressing in terms of living conditions, but let's not go there. I know that there are a lot of stupid ideas on youtube, but anyway, I saw several where people were feeding their beardies goldfish? I don't think it seems like a great idea, and I've never seen it here, but I thought I'd ask everybody's expert opinions.... :?:

In my opinion goldfish would not be the most natural item for a beardie to eat. In theory they should be able to eat them. However, there has been no evidence one way or the other showing benefits or side effects to eating them. The thing you would run into is possible diseases that goldfish carry. Not a fish expert, so I don't know any of the diseases or if they transmit to other animals. Cats eat them and seem to do fine. Just not sure how a dragon would react. I, personally would not want to risk having any problems from this type of food.

Goldfish aren't even a good feeder for Carnivorous Fish (ie. Oscars). They are ridiculously fatty, and can carry a metric ton of different diseases and parasites do to the condition in which they are help.

I wouldn't feed goldfish to anything, let alone my beardie.

Goldfish are LOADED with parasites. Thats why in the frog community it is frowned upon to feed goldfish to frogs. Don't take the chance with your BD! :)

Sounds like we have some fish experts. This furthers my stance on not feeding these to dragons. I kinda guessed that goldfish were pretty dirty fish to begin with.

Sushi fish? Supposedly that stuff has mercury in it. But does that stop me from eating it? Nope, sure doesn't. Beardies are alot smaller so probably not a good idea for them. But, boy do I like the sushi :D

Hello,

Fish are not appropriate feeders for most reptiles as it causes thiamin deficiency. They are high in an enzyme thiamase that degrades thiamin before it can be of any use to the reptile.
Thiamin deficiency can cause similar signs & symptoms of metabolic bone disease.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
