Hi all,
I got Reaper just a year ago from a few days ago. He's been great and grew from 7.5 inches to a tad over 18. He slowed down his eating around November I think. His brumation has been a sleepy inactive type, but he'd come out once about a week to bask and eat greens, and I'd bath him. Then he'd go back to sleep, or just sit around in his hide. It's now May, 1 year since I got him, and he's just about as asleep as he's been for the past almost 7 months. I took him out last about 2 weeks ago, gave him water soaking, and he basked and hung out for 2 days, no eating, then back to his hide.

I never thought his brumation would go on for this long, and start with him so young. His basking temps are roughly 100 and I've been running his lights through the brumation 14 hrs a day (unchanged) I'm in NJ.
I keep his tank in the living room, would ambient light mess him up? His lights come on at 8 am, daylight rises around 6am now, his lights go off at 10pm.

That sounds like a pretty long brumation to me. Has he lost any weight during this period?

I agree, that's a long time, especially if he started when he was just 6 months old or so. Does he have a cool side , and what temp. is it ? You might try taking him out in the sun if you can, and take the hide out of his tank for a while.

Well his brumation was really weird, through December and January he would wake every other week and spend a few days active, scratching at the glass, then eat a little, sometimes poop, and go to sleep for a week. He looks a bit smaller then he was in late November.

Sometimes my 11 year old will brumate for 2 or 3 months at a time, rarely moving at all. At her age, I always wonder if she will come out of it, but she always does and is her normal alert self. She hasn't brumated now for well over a year. There never seems to be a distinct pattern when she does it, or how long it will be. From memory, I don't think she brumated until she was at least two years old.

I don't know how old my kaisei is. We got him in december and he went into burmation the second week we had him. It lasted until about the middle of march almost april. He wouldn't eat but we took him out frequently to soak him. Since coming out of burmation he went on a protein hunger strike for about over a month. He seems to be over it. I checked his temps, hot side 95 with a basking spot of 107 as of today and a cool side of 81. i know his cool side is a little warm but my air conditioner sucks its an older beast of a machine.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
