Beardie wont move to cool side of tank

My bearded dragon spends her day basking in her light but, when my room gets hotter, so does her tank. This causes it too get too hot for her (about 90-100 f) in one side of her tank, however all she does is open her mouth to cool down, she never goes to the cool side of the tank, is there a reason for this?

What are you using to take temps with? Digital with probe, infrared or stick on type? The basking spot should be around 105 and cool end around 80. Even if they open their mouth it doesn't mean they need to move. She is just controlling the temp of her body. If it was too hot for her to control she would move. The stick on type thermometers are not accurate enough to be sure of the temps.

I am using stick on, the temperatures you mentioned are about what she I getting so thank you for clearing that up, another thing is I’m currently using a glass aquarium for her because I can’t afford to make or to buy a vivarium, how much heat loss do you think is happening because of that?

It can lose a lot of heat. I think I used to use 75 watt in a glass tank and now with wooden enclosures I use close to 25 watt bulbs. You can also cover up part of the top with a towel or something just be cautious about anything getting caught on fire. I would replace the stick on thermometers. You can't exactly put it on the basking spot and they have been said that they can be off by 20 degrees. A digital with probe would be around $10 and you can place it directly on the basking spot. You should have one for the cool end as well.
