Why does my Beardie drink until he’s sick? There is fresh water in his enclosure 24/7. I only use distilled water not tap. He doesn’t do it all the time but sometimes (once a month-ish) he will run to his dish, glug down water like he’s been deprived of it for days, change his colour from calm yellow/tan to pissed off black beard/brownish body and then throw up clear mucousy water. Right after he’s done he just goes back to his normal colour and hangs out as usual.
Back story. He’s a rescue I’ve had in my care for almost a year with severe MBD. He was malnutrished when I got him and his last owner only gave him water once a week.
