So I've been noticing that the very tip of my beardie's tail is darker. He always struggles with shedding the end of his tail. I typically have to end up helping him shed the end portion. I'm worried that it's tail rot, and looking up close at it, it does look like tail rot. It's a very tiny portion but I'm still very concerned and worried, especially since a herp vet isn't exactly within reasonable or convenient distance. The spot hasn't progressed much, if at all, but I have never dealt with tail rot before since Mushu is my first reptile. And he is only about 7 months old. I've attached some photos so you can see his tail. I would really appreciate any advice and feedback!!!!

So that's not actual tail rot but you do need to keep an eye on it. You can soak the tip in watered down betadine [ betadine or povidone iodine can be bought at drug stores ] by using a very small cup or glass to stick his tail in while you hold him. After it dries, put a dab of neosporin on it. It should be fine but of course you should see a vet if it spreads up the tail which I doubt it will. BTW, never pull or scrape the shed off, if it has a hard time just apply neosporin and it will soften it so it come off more easily.
