Okay, so Lemon has a branch that she loves. She sleeps on it and will only leave her perch to eat and run around occasionally. She has another perch that I had placed for basking. She would not go on it to bask and would stay on her favorite branch on the cool side. Temps are 100-105 for basking and 80-85 on the cool side.

So today, I wanted to see if I could get her to move around a bit more. I just placed her in a 40 breeder and she seems to be enjoying it. Anyway, I moved her favorite branch to the basking area even though it will not retain heat as well. She has not moved from that branch all day. I don't want to remove the branch since she loves it so much!

What are some suggestions on getter her to use her whole space?

Her preference might be temperature related. What are you using to measure temps?

I just checked the temp again. Slightly higher this time in the basking area 105-109. But she stays on the branch regardless of where the branch is placed, whether it's on the cool side or hot side. I've raised the light a bit and see if she changes her mind. She's actually on the basking rock now.

My Richard does the same thing. I've got a platform covered in shelf liner that he refuses to move from, unless he has to poop. When he's really feeling rowdy he goes halfway onto a cork log, which is an expedition of about 8". He's there for 10 or 15 minutes, then he turns around and goes back to his spot. This happens a couple of times a day. He moves just fine when he decides to; when he goes to the floor of his viv to poop, he scampers down his log, tromps all over the base of the viv until he's done his business, then jumps 10" straight up, back to his perch.

I've set up a little after-bath basking area on the arm of a couch, with a small dog bed and an MVB for heat and UVB. So after his bath I plop him down there and he smooshes around until he's comfy, then doesn't move again for hours. The other day he actually went to the end of the arm of the couch (about 2'), and my husband and I both remarked on how wild he was acting!

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
