He started shedding like 2 weeks ago. But now he is shedding his head. I know that rubbing himself on things is normal but all of a sudden today he started coughing and puffing his beard and he is squeaking when i pick him up....
I read that it could be a respiratory infection. I don't know any vets around me because i live in alaska and reptiles aren't common. Do you know of any in the Wasilla, Alaska area??
I just got this little guy like a month ago. He is approx. 8-9inches long. Don't know how old he is.
He seems energetic still. Still eating crickets and stuff. I got phoenix worms that should be here tomorrow.
Here are his tank specs.
He lives in a 4x2x2 tank. I don't know what the gallons are, do you know what that equals out to be?
I have a light fixture on the left side on the top with two heat bulbs NON uv. they are normal heat lights from Zoomed.
On the other side i have a Mercury Vapor bulb from Zoo Med. I got it on ebay brand new for $40ish. He seems to really like it and his colors are coming out perfect. this is his basking light.
His temps are 81.6 ambient , and 111.3 in his basking spot. his night time temp is 70-75ish.
His humidity is around 20% in there. I have been using that little vitamin spray to help them shed on him once a week. just a few quick sprays.
He is living on stone flooring so it files his nails and he doesn't choke on sand.
He eats 1/2" crickets (medium) but i have been feeding him a couple large ones (3/4") and he has been digesting them just fine. He always gets D3 cal. its from Fluckers.
He gets about 14hrs of daytime with about 10hrs of UV. and 10 hours of night time. I shut off the UV light after a while. Considering he doesn't need to sit in the sun ALL day.
He also poops daily but he doesn't seem to like drinking water. So i just give him baths twice a week.
