He is 5 months old, and we just got him last week. He is eating well and getting baths and pooping. Except now he is sleeping in his hide A LOT. Like I'd say today and yesterday he slept more than not. Is this normal for a 5 month old???
He's in a 40 gallon long, 18" UVB Reptisun 10.0, 100W basking bulb putting the basking temp around 107 and the cool side is around 78. Doesn't get below 70 at night. substrate is slate tile.

Oh and he look as if he's about to go through a partial shed on his head, legs and tail. Not sure if that makes a difference.

ETA, it's totally shedding, isn't it? I just read about how miz they can be when they're shedding. Here's a pic:

Mine always gets really lazy when he's about to or is shedding, mine also gets ,cranky and won't let anyone but me hold him, I just give him a bath (to help the sheding ) and I feed him a Little extra and just let him sleep. He's usually back to normal in a week or 2.

So from the pic does it look like shedding???? I think that's what it is. Last night I gave him a 15 minute bath which is longer than usual and he was thrilled, drank a ton of water too!

Yes he definitely looks like he's about to shed - the extra baths are good - you could also remove his hide for awhile to kind of force him to stay awake. A bath usually helps wake mine up too - so even if you give a nice warm bath to help wake him up it might help.

mine is doing the same thing.. he is about 6 months old and lately just wants to sit no where near his heat or UV lamp. his eating is diminshed greatly too.

he is more than likely semi brumating/hibernating since Im in cold canada right now.

so my question is should I try to pick him up to feed him in his feeding bin or just show him the crickets and if he doesnt go after them in say a few minutes not feed him at all? I dont want to starve him but at the same time I dont want to disturb him while he is chilling in the corner.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
