Beardie Prolapse!

Yes! For fosters, and certainly for a sick beardie, I use paper towels. For my own healthy dragons, I use Carefresh (they love to dig in it) and I also keep a layer of slate tiles in the cool end (where their salad gets placed.) I do not feed live prey items in their tank. I bring them out & feed them in their separate "feeding tub" (just a Rubbermaid container.)

It would be best to keep her on newspaper and/or paper towels. You will be able to keep track of how much she poos that way without it getting lost in any substrate. You'll also be able to see if she lays any eggs, [sometimes they just drop them around the tank and they may not be noticed ]

That is not a lot of eggs laid hopefully she doesn't have any left! She has not prolapsed again since?
Are you still feeding a soft foods right now? I hope she is doing better now & keep us posted on her.

I'll start to clear out the sand asap and put paper towels down! I hope if there is still eggs she isnt too fussy to lay them on paper towels, it'll be new to her!
She hasnt pooped today yet but she did it twice yesterday, still no prolapse luckily!
I'm still puréeing her food with extra calcium and minerals, shes being a bit fussy about it but I'm just hand feeding her small bits of rocket and using the dropper to put it right in her mouth while shes chewing.

So its been over a week now and still no prolapse again.
I've kept her on the paper towels in her tank, today I started her back on chopped food, very very finely chopped!
I'm still adding extra calcium and minerals to her food.
Shes been pooping almost everyday.
I gave her a bath earlier, she urinated but didn't poo in it!
She hasn't laid anymore eggs or been digging for somewhere to lay them at all, and theres none visible in her stomach but her stomach is still kinda big looking (shes always had a big belly so I dont know if I'm just being paranoid!)

That is great she has not prolapsed again so far!
Hopefully she doesn't have any eggs right now. Is she eating pretty well also?
How did she like her chopped up food? It sounds like she is recovering nicely too.
How does she like the paper towels?

Shes eating well, she ate better yesterday with her chopped food back, and this morning she was over eating again, just about to give her more fresh food!
Really hope theres no eggs, but shes alert, climbing, basking, eating and going to the toilet so she doesnt seem unwell at the moment.
Shes fine on the paper towels! I'm definitely not putting sand back in the tank so I'm gonna look for a better substrate!

Reptile Carpet is a good alternative to sand or loose substrate.

Thanks! Went to the pet shop today and got the reptile carpet! Going to wait a while to put it in, I have a lay box in the tank now so i'll keep the paper towels in until its time to remove the lay box, she looks pretty gravid so I'm hoping she'll start digging around soon!

agree with others. Replace the UVB asap. Reptisun 10% Tube is the best. I use reptile carpet and LOVE it. 8) Others use newspaper or paper towels.

They don't actually sell Reptisun where I live at all! I had the pet store call their suppliers and they didn't even stock it! So I've ordered it online along with an Arcadia UV Controller and Reflector so I'm just waiting for it all to arrive!

Shes still really active, eating as usual and going to the bathroom with no trouble!
I took the actual lay box out because she showed zero interest in digging, now I just have the damp sand piled up in on end of the tank, shes been climbing up on it but no digging yet, she just dug the sand last time she layed the 7 eggs so I'm hoping she'll prefer to lay like that again!
I haven't put the carpet in yet becuase I have the sand in the corner, so still paper towels for now!
I'm just being really inpatient about the possible eggs laying, her belly has definitely gotten bigger in the last week!

So far i've tried damp sand, damp soil, a mixture of both, a lay box in the tank, piled damp sand/soil one end of the tank, then both ends of the tank, then I put her in her own tank with lots of sand/soil to dig and covered it with towels to give her privacy.
Shes laid 2 eggs and pooped at the same time, they were alot bigger than the last ones she lay, seriously around double the size!
She hasnt got lumpy sides since she lay the 2 large eggs, her belly still looks big but i cant feel any eggs at all now, and shes always had a big belly!
Shes barely glass climbing even, let alone digging.
Her appetite is still normal and shes going to the toilet regularly still and active as always.
Should I just wait until she starts going crazy trying to dig and put her back in her lay tank then?
Or could it be possible she has no eggs now seeing as i cant feel any and she doesnt seem to be looking to lay anymore?

So she just recently popped out 2 eggs ? [ or pooped out ! ] There should be more there. You can't always feel them either. Keep an eye on her and put her in the lay bin at least once a day.
