Beardie out more than in?

Anyone have thier beardie out pretty much all the time? If Spike's not out he finds a corner of the viv and sulks until I feel guilty enough to bring him out again. He seems to like being out with me, my arm is cramped because he's fallen asleep on it.

I try to get Dewey outside as much as possible which usually ends up being about 2 hours per day during the week and much longer than that on most weekends. Last night was a rare night for him where he was out for about 3.5 hours including 2 hours of sleeping on me while I chilled to watch some tv. They are such great snugglers! :)

Basically for me, when he feels cool to touch I put him back in his viv so he can warm up some and after I also leave him in there after he's eaten so he can digest his food or gotten a bath so he doesn't get to cold. He seems very happy with this arrangement.

Dewey's not one to sulk. His form of sulking is actually what I call a temper tantrum. That's when he starts pacing, glass scratching/dancing, trampeling through his salad... basically when he tears his viv apart! LOL That usually happens after I've had him outside to get some real sun and he doesn't want to come back in.

My oldest is hardly ever in his viv, partly because he has the option of going in/out whenever he wants.

This really depends on the age of your beardie. The younger the more he'll need to be in his viv, under the UV and heat lamps. It also depends highly on the ambient temp in your house. If it's typically on the cool side, then you'll want to minimize the hours out of his viv.

Spike seems to know exactly when I'm home, because only then does he destroy his viv, gets salad everywhere and if I ignore all that, he just poops in his water dish. He also refuses to go to bed until he's fallen asleep on me, latched on like a barnacle then has a scared dash to my shoulder when I move.

He is 4 years old, and the temp in my living room is pretty warm, I think I'M turning cold-blooded! He stays warm enough for quite a while, and I give him a bath before I feed him to warm him up. I heard it's bad to feed them at night or when they are cold.

Yeah feeding them at night can be an issue if they don't have enough time to digest their food before the lights go out. If they go to bed with a full partially or un-digested belly they can end up with a belly ache. As far as feeding them when they're cold, well I leave Dewey's food in his viv in the morning. He warms up and eats when he's ready. I always take the food out at least 1.5 hours before bed time. They should at least have an hour or two to digest food before the lights go out. :)

Being not working to much the last few weeks I have Booger out a lot during the day, seems like she gets mad when I don't have her out all the time. She hides and sleeps, but when she sees me she will climb the walls of her tank. Glad I am not the only one feeling this way

I was wondering the same thing about our Beardie,
She turns gray and just stairs at us when we get home from work. As soon as we hold her she is white and happy.
She is out from about 6 to 11 everynight.
The other day, I came in are room before my wife, Freddie sat and just staired at the door for about 30 min. I even moved her, and she went right back to stairing at the door. Once my wife can in, she didnt look at the door way again.

When I'm not traveling, I work from home. The south facing window in Knecco's room is great, I just let him say on his table.

When I leave, I move his window-screen box onto the table. Otherwise he jumps off the table and goes looking for me. I usually will find him hiding under my bed in my room. I swear he is looking for me. There are better beds to hid under on his way to my room.

I also claim he is potty trained. Usually I have the chance to bathe him or walk him in the back yard, where poop happens. Twice this week I have been too busy and a mess had to happen. I kid you not, he has jumped off the table, walked to the bathroom, and pooped right next to the toilet. I think he figured it out because that toilet is where it went when I did have to clean up messes on the table.

For the record, Knecko is the BEST name for a beardie. 'It's not a Gecko' is my most used phrase when I take Spike anywhere.

That sun table is an awesome idea, Spike spends all of his time in my windowsill. It looks onto a busy square so there are always loads of cars and people. If he sees something really interesting he'll glass-dance until I pick him up and give him a better view.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
