Beardie only eats superworms

My bearded dragon only wants to eat super worms he hasn't touched his crickets in a week. He loves his supers he jumps off his basking platform like he is starving when he sees me open the container, but if i try and throw some crickets in there he wont touch them. I end up having to go fetch crickets in the cage. What should I do?

have you tried other worms in conjuction with the supers? I know my beardie is much more of a "worm" lover than a "bug" lover, she DEF LOVS her Supers too!! Im kinda glad she doesnt go for crickets anymore!! They are a pain eh? and thankfully, there are SO many wonderful alternatives to them -
so what i do is i mix it up with Pheonix Worms, Hornworms, and Butterworms. People here on bd.org LOVE silkworms too, i just have never kept them. i really should though.
You might wanna try some of those worms i mentioned, he might realy like them! and they are all REALLY good staples to feed too.

Boss is about 8 months old.
What worms are the best to feed because i dont want to keep feeding him supers bc they cause impaction

oh ok, yeah, if your supers are causing impaction and giving him trouble then def dont feed them. some beardies have no prob with them, and some do, so if its a problem, yeah, steer away from them and go with butters, silks, horns, and pheonix. very little chitin. horns have none at all - just beware they frow FAST and big ... which isnt really a problem considering they are totally soft bodied, just something to keep in mind when ordering them, you might not want to order a large quanity, and you might wanna order the babies...they may arrive looking like inch worms but in no time they will be nice and juicy.
for me, butters and pheonix worms are really simple and easy to keep. horns are too, they just grow so fast, its pretty wild to watch. i personally have never kept silkworms, but everyone raves about them!!!!! some people mention they are hard to keep but i really dont know if they are meaning hard to keep a colony or hard to keep simply as feeders (no breeding)
i never really considered pheonix worms to have any chitin, they are black fly larvae and easy to digest. butters and silks would work well for your beardie too, they are softer bodied/low in chitin.
