Beardie not looking well.

Hi There,

My beardie is not looking well today. He didn't each much yesterday, maybe 1 cricket. Today I'm not sure he ate any. He's not moving well, he was opening and closing his mouth as if he was eating but not. He's not drinkign either. His tail turned black also.It's much darker. Does he need vet?

Sorry i'm being stupid, he's a baby, less than 3 inches. He's never eaten well but he's starting to be more active hunting. I had to change his heat which I did based on what this board said (made it closer, etc,)

Hi Niko, that doesn't sound good. How old + what size is he and how long have you had him ? What type of lights do you have + how do you measure the temps. ? Can you post pics of him as well as the entire set up, including the lights ? That would be very helpful. Here's how to post pics :

I did what people said, put the light closer (no blocking for uvb), checked the temperature other ways, humidity. It seemeed to be helping and he was trying to eat, but today it went to **** and he's just not looking good at all.

How close is the uvb bulb [ long tube ] and is it the Zilla or a Reptisun 10.0 ? Have you dripped water on his snout for a drink ? Have you tried squishing a cricket + then rubbing it on his snout ? You can also try some baby food squash, chicken, green bean, peas. Nothing with broth or gravy though. Also a drop or 2 of raw honey might perk up his appetite. He is going downhill I'm sad to say so try those things.

I've dropped water on his nose, it doesn't work. He's not drinking today. ill try cricket and honey.

He died. He's not moving. His belly went white.
