Beardie not basking long enough?

My beardie, who has had giardia and coccidia since this winter and is *hopefully* cured (coccidia is gone, but he just got through another dosing of panicure for giardia). A few days after he was off the meds I changed aorund his habitat a little, switching out the old basking structure for a new and putting a half log in for him to sleep under. At first he was doing great, but the past few days he has deiscovered how much he loves the half log and has been refusing to come out from under it. If I take him out he'll bask for a little and he'll eat well when I take him out and try to feed him (greens and crickets, he's a year old) but then he'll go under the log after around 20 minutes has passed. Should I remove the log or do I need to try to 'train' him? THanks for the help, I've had a lot of trouble taking care of him and hopefully soon he'll be healthy.

Your best bet would probably be to remove the half log. Maybe remove it for a few weeks and see how he does, then try putting it in again. He may or may not go back to hiding again.
Good luck! :D

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
