So lately my bearded dragon has not been basking. I'll put him on his basking spot and 5minutes later he will leave it and go hang out on the cool side. Here is my setup:

102°F basking spot (104 if the fan in my room is off)
80°F cool side(82-83 if fan is off)
All temps measured with an infared temperature gun 2" away.
Reptisun 10.0 tube 7" from basking spot.
Regular house bulb on cool side to light it up(doesn't put off much heat)
All in a 50gallon custom built wooden vivarium.

He is fed mustard greens/collard greens and 5-6superworms daily.
I give him a 15minute bath to hydrate him every other day(3hours after he eats.)

It has just been today and yesterday so far he's been acting like this. Any idea what's up?

Hello,

What type of basking light are you using, a colored bulb or a bright white basking bulb?
How old is he?
How often do you give calcium & vitamins?
He could possibly be slowing down a bit if the weather has been cooler. Are you up north in the cold?
Though most dragons should be starting to come out of brumation now.
How are his colors looking?

I dont know how old but he is just about 16inches.
His colors are still bright orange still(no dark colors)
No colored lights, all bright basking.
I live in texas so no cold weather. Its like 73degrees out.
He is given calcium 5 times a week. I have some vitamins on the way, he hasnt had them for a while.

He started to bask a bit more after he ate, ill have to see tomorrow if he continues to act weird. (Hes asleep)
I also let him out to run around/eat, maybe he just wanted out to run around (ive been studying alot lately so i havent had time to "play" with him :/)

He also fell head first behind is logs and i had to quickly get him out and shift the logs over so he couldnt slip back there in the corner again (i checked him for injuries and there didnt seem to be any) could he have possibly been afraid of slipping back there again? Im glad i was in the room when it happened (his viv is in my room.)

So I just got home and he is still not basking. He is still active though, eating, pooping, no signs of himbeing lethargic.

Mine have been brumating for almost 3 months now. Occasionally, they will wake up and eat a little, bask , poop and then back to their hide. I'm in Dallas and I'm hoping that they will respond to the warmer temps and spring weather and become active again. I miss them.

I rechecked the temps with my gun and i realized that the dimmer was up too high so the basking temp was 109F. The dimmer must have gotten moved somehow. He is basking now. Thanks for all the help!:D

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
