Beardie Noob II

Well, we found a new beardie after our month old baby Fireball passed away. It is a little sooner than we expected but he's just perfect and we couldn't leave him at the pet store! Approx 12 mo., very active, eats his veggies and is simply beautiful. No sure what kind of morph he is, but here are the pics.

Outside:

Pattern and color - light blue to lavender with hilights of yellows!

Now he needs a name...

he is really pretty but i seen your substrate in the tank for the baby that passed away...is that shavings??you dont want to use them in a beardie tank they are truly horrible for them..try either paper towels..ceramic tiles or porcelian.....bye

Yes, it's Aspen chips. However, we don't suspect he died from an impaction. The vet said his digestive dract and stomach felt completely empty. But the Aspn chips...they are gone now. The new BD is on shelf paper.

That's great that you took the chips out. Even if your other beardie wasn't impacted, there is no guarantee that your new baby wouldn't be if you kept the chips as substrate. Congratulations on your new beardie!

Sometimes, it's better to get an adult rather than a baby. So many things can go wrong with babies. Glad to see you brought home another one, I know how hard it is to do that after a baby dies, I just had one die about a month ago and I too got a baby a few days ago. But, it does help to have another one to spoil. :love5:

Given that our son took the last loss hard, we felt an adult would be better and a little easier. The colors are even better in person. We found him at a local pet store. We had no plans to buy but his colors caught our eyes immediately, plus the fact that he was hugging the glass saying take me, take me! As it turned out they had not yet figured out a price for him so they let him go at the regular adult BD price SOLD!

When the sales person was getting him ready to go he did mention that we were probably getting a really expensive dragon at an awsome price.
