for my 1 month I'm using a exo terra 50w tight beam on 24hours right now because i dont want him to get to cold at night. It is a white light so its always bright and he probably doesnt know when to sleep. Can i use a red bulb on 24hours for heat then keep my exo terra 18" 10.0 26w uvb 12 or 14 hours. I've been doing 14h for my last beardie. I was told dont use colors at night because they can still see them. But my 10 month sleeps just fine on the cold side of the tank at night with his 150 w red bulb. Winters around the corner and it get pretty chilly here in canada.

I wouldn't use the white light, it can cause them to have changes in sleeping patterns or not able to sleep completely. A red light would be a good choice for night time, I used to use one when my beardie was little. I would alternate the lights, white for day and red for night. The tank doesn't have to stay hot at night, I keep mine between 70-75 at night. Depending on what kind of enclosure you're using you might be able to use a heat pad for the cooler end of the tank.

DON'T use a red OR white light at night. Heat and light are bad for beardies at night. They can see red, blue, and black bulbs just as well as white bulbs, and they all disturb sleep. Also, DON'T use a heat pad. Beardies don't sense heat from their underside, they sense it from above, so they can easily be burned by heat pads without even realizing it. This applies especially if its being used at night time. If it really gets below 65 degrees at night in your house, you can use a ceramic heat emitter at night. I really don't think its necessary for your beardie to have any of these. Just keep your baking bulb, and UVB bulb on for 12-14 hours daily, and your dragon will be fine.

Is a heating pad bad all around then? I've seen a few people that have them on the sides of the tank, not under.

Yes i know not to use heat pads because it can burn there underside. It doesnt get below 65 at night because its mid summer, In september it should get below. Then should i buy a CHE?..... which is better 12 or 14? I dont want my dragon to be fine, i want him to be superb.

I think people recommend 14 on 10 off for summer, 12 on 12 off for the rest. If the temps get that low, go for the CHE. You may want to get it now, Petsmart is discontinuing them, so they're really cheap. (Don't use it now, though). Be careful, they can get very hot, so make sure it won't raise the temps too much.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
