Beardie Needs HELP!

The petshop in my town flat out sucks. The lady that owns it thinks she knows all, but she really doesn't! A while back she got some baby beardies in. She doesn't do good with herps at all! She has two left and I go in there a couple times a week and check on them every time and its getting worse. One of them is half the size (maybe even less) of the other now, it can hardly lift its head up. The lady that owns the place thinks I'm insane. I wanna see that poor little thing out of there!

I don't know what to do. Right now I really don't have the money because I have to get Rambo's upgrade, and hes still a growing baby.

This lady makes me sick. I don't know what to do. She wants $60 for the poor little thing. I have a project for school that needs to get finished tonight and I can't think about anything except the poor little beardie.

If I wasn't so far away I would get him . I hope somebody near you can get him and quickly.

I think I'm going to go back tomorrow after school and see if she'll go any lower. I found a 10 or 15 gallon tank at the thrift store for $11, (they have the two in a 10 gallon, I know I'll need an upgrade soon)
I have extra decor, I'd just need the lights basicly... that lady makes me sooo mad! Its sooo tiny. They've been there since 2 weeks before I got Rambo, and they were bigger than Rambo then. And now rambo is bigger than the lil guy.

Would it be crazy for me to get this one if she'll go lower?

I don't think so. WE are here to help you as much as we can as far as advise and I think you would be good for him. Just keep in mind he more than likely has heath issues and will need some extra care, but I am sure you can haddle it just by how much you care about him already. Keep us posted. and don't hesitate to post in heath or ER if something doesn't seem right and you aren't sure what to do. Good luck!

Aww, thanks. I'm about to go see if the tank is still at the thrift store. I really hope it is. Otherwise if I get Rambo's upgrade done soon... Oh boy. I hope this works...

Well, the thrift store tank was gone, but good news still. Today has to be my lucky day. =)

I went to Baraboo to get some stuff for Rambo's new home. Decided to go to the thrift store there... nothing... but just down the way from the thrift store is another pet store. Pet Suply! I talked to the owner about the AMAZING snake she has there. She has the best collection I've ever seen at a mom&pop type store. Anyway we got to talking and I told her about the poor little thing at the petshop in my town. She was so helpful. She sent me out of the store with a 10gallon + screen top + tiny UTH (because she knows how cold it gets and she knows its a temporary setup) for $10. She's pretty much my hero. :love5:

So tonight I'm getting everything cleaned up and set up and tomorrow first thing after school I'm savin the lil thing. Rambo's running around my room "helping". Acctually more like cleaning up the escaped crickets. :lol:

I hope this all goes well. I still haven't stopped thinking about the little one...

and also thankyou to everyone here for the concern and support. You guys are becoming a second family to me! =)

Your Pet Supply store owner is my hero, too! :notworthy: It is so rare to hear of a store helping out a rescue like that. They are incredibly cool! I would definitely become a regular customer if I were much closer, but I've never yet been to Wisconsin. Good luck with your new baby, and Rambo, too! Post pics when you can! :wink:

Yeah. I'm going to be going there on a regular basis now. I had only been in there 3 times before today... and today she won my heart ^^

I'll deffinitely put some pics of the new little fella... or lady, once the little one gets here tomorrow and gets settled in a bit.

I am so happy to hear how things are turning out for you. You must have been picked to be that babies new mommy, I always say everything happens for a reason and everyone has a purpose in life. You are obviously meant to take this baby hope. Tell your new petshop lady Thank you from another beardie Mommy that is grateful for how much she is helping you guys. I wish I could find one here in FL that loving and helpful.

Well the little one is safe and eating like food is a new concept. Oh my. Its really sad. Within a matter of 2 days the bigger one managed to lose a couple toes and looked like its about to lose part of its tail. So if there's anyone in Wisconsin looking to rescue, let me know! I really didn't want to see either of them in there but the little one wouldn't really make it much longer with the big guy in there. And she'll apparently go lower on the big one =/
...after she jacked the price up to $70 because I was coming in there staring at them all the time... ugh

She was feeding them Bearded Dragon Pellets... and apparently they got romaine lettuce once in awhile because they seemed to like it.
I gave the little one some kale and collard greens and it ate like a maniac. It also ate about 8 small crickets.

Right now I have Rambo's tank and the new guys tank sitting right next to eachother because its the only way I have room at the moment without re-arrangeing my entire room. Rambo's doing the arm wave (never seen him do that before) should I make it so they can't see eachother?

Thats the little guy. If you put Rambo with him you'd see just how tiny this one is. And he's atleast as old if not older than Rambo =/
