I am so sad to be making this post, but I have unfortunately come to terms with the fact that I should probably rehome my big beardie named Biggie/AKA Big Boy. I’ve had him for 3 years but I realize I am not providing him the time and effort that he deserves due to my schedule, nor can I afford vet care if he needs it. He is a healthy guy overall from what I can tell, but not really fair to him that I wouldn’t be able to provide a check up if needed.
He is a super chill guy with a very thick tail. He was a fully grown adult when I got him 3 years ago, so I am not 100% sure how old he is.
I also feel bad that due to space in my home, his enclosure is also not very big for his size (40 gallons). He just overall doesn’t seem very happy with me and I’m realizing that he might be happier with someone who would take better care of him and spend more time interacting with him, since I don’t take him out much during the week.
I love him and want to make sure he goes to a good home. I am in no huge rush to rehome him, but figured I should make this post to see if anyone in my local area (San Diego) might be able to provide for him better than I can because he deserves it. I’m trying to avoid posting him on Craigslist or other marketplaces.
If needed, he could come with his 40 gallon tank, a nice T5 UVB light/fixture (just purchased), heat lamp/bulbs, a few of hammocks, fake plants, and water/food dish. I also have a T8 fixture. I would want to ask for a fee for the tank/lighting setup, as it is new and was not cheap, but open to discussion.
Again, I feel so torn on making this post, and know it will hurt to have to give him up… but hoping there is a forever home that will give him more attention and care than I am currently able to.
