Well, for the past few weeks, my bearded dragon has been sitting with her lips slightly parted, whether or not she's basking. She can close it, but when she does, ever so slowly, it creeps open again. My initial thought was MBD, however I'm unsure of how it would have happened... her food is convstantly dusted with calcium (and now Repashy Calcium Plus), she's alert (if not lazy- although she does have her days when she just wants to run around everywhere).
She has a 40 gallon tank, no loose substrate, a Repti-Sun 10.0 tube that was just replaced last week (the one before, we had for six months) she eats dubia roaches (and if I can work hard to convince her, collard green/mustard green salads, always available, rarely eaten, even if I deprive her of dubias for a few days. She's stubborn.)
So with proper UV lighting and well dusted insects her entire life, I'm not sure how, or why this happened. I've even noticed small muscle twitches (I suppose, could be coincidence) in her toes and occasionally legs, which point to MBD, although again... This is all very frustrating and confusing.
Any advice on further boosting calcium intake- can I drip liquid calcium onto her nose for her to drink herself, or mix a dissoluble calcium I purchased from BD.co in her water to help?
