Beardie losing weight...need advice

My beardie is 14 months old, 22" and ~720g

Past month or so he stopped eating, so when he finally pooped I had a fecal done and he had coccidia. Vet wanted him on Albon but I have had bad experiences with that in the past so I put him on 2 rounds of 5% toltrazuril and probiotics and disinfected his cage daily(the pink liquid cleaner).

Two weeks after he is still not eating. I am having to syringe feed him 5cc a day of 3:1 critical care/carnivore care mix.

His spine and hip bones are now very noticeable. He is otherwise active and basking except every once in awhile he will black beard and scratch the tank walls.

Any ideas? I will have him vet checked asap but wondering if anyone has had similar issues.

Can you post some photos of him? At that weight he shouldn't be having much problem.

It is difficult to see in pictures, I can see the outline of his ribs when he breathes and the base of his tail used to be fatty but is now bony.

That's just what I have on my phone from the last few weeks. I will try to take a better picture of the problem when his lights go on.

Hi there....the coccidia treatment and lack of appetite may be coinciding with the brumation season causing loss of appetite. Actually how long did he go without eating before you began syringe feeding him ? How much did he weigh before ? I can tell you that he's nowhere near underweight, actually is quite hefty. He's probably reacting to having a bout of meds.,, which can sometimes cause loss of appetite. Just keep him hydrated and offer the syringe feeding unless he's really sleepy, he should be fine and his weight is fine, he's even on the chunky side. Most beardies should not go beyond 750 grams.
