Beardie went to sleep in November and woke up in mid January. I weigh him every few days. From 10/28/2022-1/16/2023 weight 322-319.
Not sure exactly how old he is. Close to a year. Got him in May, he is 19” long very happy and alert. Runs to his food (greens) drinks from his water dish. Only problem is he refuses any bugs except 3 Superworms on Fridays.
Temps, basking 95-105, warm 85-88, cool 78-81. 36“ Reptisun t5 ho, 90w halogen
Enclosure 4x2x2
Lights 5am-7pm
Very active until he is tired of running around
Healthy poops, good urate. (Poop’s about once every week - two weeks)
I think his genetics are what is keeping him in the 314-323g range.
Is it possible that just winter is keeping him from eating too many bugs? His tail is kinda squishy. He isn’t losing weight, just fluctuating between 314-318.
He is a dragon so he does what he wants. I just keep him supplied with food, water, and keeping his enclosure spotless.
Any thoughts on getting him to eat bugs, or wait it out until he eats them himself?
