The long story short version of this is that it's been almost a month since Pitaya, my 5 month old beardie has eaten ANY feeders and vegetables, and at this point I'm worried that it's stunting her growth.
Longer version:
The last time she ate any feeders was Feb 21st, and even before then she had started eating fewer and fewer with each day (I posted this thread when she first stopped eating: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=240607). We took her to see a vet on March 1st, and left a fecal sample with him. On March 5th, the vet called saying that she was positive for pinworms. We gave her her first dose of medicine (Pyrantel Pamoate) on March 7th. We're supposed to giver her the next dose on the 21st, and the third and last one on April 4th.
The vet suggested trying kale, dandelion greens, crickets, and mealworms (his logic being that maybe she was getting tired of the collard greens and dubias that I was feedinger her). He also suggested giving her water via a syringe and hand feeding baby food. I talked to the person I usually buy feeders from because I've heard a lot of bad things about mealworms, and he recommended butterworms instead (apparently their color and scent is very appealing). I haven't had ANY luck with ANY of these things (kale, dandelion greens, crickets, and butterworms). Ever since we got back from the vet, the only thing I've been able to get Pitaya to eat is baby food (we bought a bottle of sweet potato and another of chicken), and even that she only eats a very small amount of. Concerned that she wasn't feeling any better a week after her first dose of medicine, I did some more research and found out that probiotics can help, so I bought Bene-bac and started mixing that into her baby food (just gave her the second dose of that yesterday). Another thing that's really concerning is that she's definitely pooping less and less (she's only pooped two times in the last 2 weeks) and her energy level has decreased noticeably since my last post.
Anyway, I'm really, really worried. If the Bene-bac doesn't help, then I really feel like I've exhausted all my options. I just really want her to start eating feeders again.
And as for enclosure set-up and additional care notes:
-50 gallon exo terra glass vivarium (screen top removed to allow all light and heat in)
-34" Reptisun 10.0 UVB (yes, it's still good; we just bought it end of January)
-Zoomed 100 W basking spot lamp (tried a 150 W lamp to begin with, but it was making the whole enclosure WAY too hot)
-Paper towels for substrate
-Cool side between 80 and 83 degrees
-Warm side between 91 and 97 degrees
-Basking spot between 101 and 102 degrees
-Nighttime temperature is about 72 degrees
-Lights are on from 8:30 AM to 9:30 PM (on a timer)
-When she was still eating, feeders were dusted with Calcium+D3 6 days of the week, and with multivitamins 1 day a week
-I give her a bath about 5 times a week
