Beardie Is attacking UV light...

Peridot's UVB bulb is fairly high, but he has a tall climbing log and a hammock just a few inches below it. I noticed earlier today that he was shedding, but also that he was trying to climb up the side of his terrarium (the horizontal side directly below the UVB light). Not only that, but he was climbing up his log AND his hammock, to shove his nose directly on the bulb repeatedly. He has NEVER done this before...What should I do? I'm so worried!

Check the recommended distance for the bulb you bought, I've never heard of anyone putting a bulb a few inches from a basking or resting place where the beardie could touch it with his nose, it's possible your beardie may be getting too much UVB and attacking the bulb because it irritates him. Most UVB bulbs I've seen require the bulb to be at least 4-6 inches away from the bearded dragon, not just the basking spot so the height of the dragon must be accounted for as well. It could also be a sign that your bulb is somehow defective, is it a new bulb?
I've never heard of this either so maybe someone more experienced and learned than me will come along and help explain this a bit better.
What kind of UVB bulb is it? Tube, compact, MVB? What is the brand and strength? such as Zoomed reptisun 10

He's most likely discovered he can now reach it and was investigating it , and probably trying to use the surfaces to help move some shed off his snout .

What exactly is the UV source ? if he can touch it , unless it's a 13W compact it's a good idea to stop him access to the hood / globe.

See below to work out the distance from the globe & hood to get about 190 microW UVB / sq.cm at the basking spot (on the beardie's head and back) : viewtopic.php?f=34&t=235611

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
