Hey my 2 y/o male beardie Hennessy is acting very weird. Hes normally EXTREMELY active, and I mean that when I say it. In the last week he will not come out of his hideout nor will he eat his crickets or greens (which he never eats greens anyways, but we still offer them) He is in a 4'x3'x3' home made viv and his basking temps are between 95-101 and the cool end about 80. He bathes 3-4 times a week for about 15-20 minutes. His substrate is tile. His UVB broke and we ordered another and it should be here in the next day or so. Please help. He sleeps ALL day and I don't know whats wrong with him! Hes not pooping very much at all either, if at all. please help my poor baby!!

are you somewhere you can get him outside into the sun for a bit? could be nothing more than missing the UVB's.... ?

Its not warm enough here to take him outside. He wont come out of his hideout and he wont eat. I called the emergency vet and they said that he MIGHT be okay but they think its a bowel thing and im not sure what that means. Im calling a vet tomorrow for sure, but im not sure whats going to happen. Im just freaking out. I've already lost two reptiles (a gecko and a baby BD) and I cant handle loosing another. I don't know what else to do.

Take him out of his tank and give him some unsweetened applesauce or canned pure pumpkin with a drop or two of olive or mineral oil mixed in. Dribble some on his nose so that it runs down and he licks it up. This will help him go poo.

Ive tried doing the same thing with water instead of applesauce in the past to get him to drink something and ive even done that with his veggies and he is so weird he doesn't ever lick his face at all. I mean hes just a weird one. he never has been one to lick. I have 2 intense uvbs on order will be here Thursday. I also called the vet and will be making an appointment as soon as possible. Since last night he has gotten worse. His night temps stay between 80-85 and I turned on his lights this morning as usual and they were on for maybe 10 minutes, his temp was around 87-88 and he was freaking out as though he was extremely over heated, and he was shaking like he was having a seizure. So I wrapped him up in a blanket and have been holding him and he fell right asleep. It is just so weird and of course I'm freaking out because I don't know what to do for the poor thing. He's perfectly fine when being held. As far as the pooping goes, he has never been one to poop in the bath, not sure why but he just wont. I have tried massaging his tummy while in the bath to help him feel the need to poop but nothing. Could it be that recently I have put paper towels in the spots where he normally poops and he doesn't like it??

*UPDATE* Just put him back in his cage. Tried to give him crickets, and he ate about five. He also pooped a small poop but a poop none the less on me while I was holding him. I inspected it, and it was all crickets, a little bit of the white gooey poop but something new this time. There was a tan colored part to it, wasn't a worm or anything like that. just a tan gooey part. Never seen this before?? anyone know what It could be??
