beardie in cool.side alot

so lately my guy has been spending the majority of his day on his cool side on his branch. it's just weird cause for as long as I've had him (7 months) he's always stayed mainly on warm side. he's very healthy and eats and poos normal. Temps are 93.2* warm side and 79* cool side, Temps are taken with thermometers with probes inside tank. and help appreciated, thankyou

What is his actual basing temp?

well I think I may have screwed uo. I used to have a rock/cave for him to bask on and the surface would stay around 107*. well he outgrew his cave to sleep in so I found a wooden box thing for him to sleep in so I replaced the cave with that. well the damn surface isn't getting over 94*. I guess the wood doesn't get warm enough. I just replaced with rock again so his basking temp will be right.

I would also suggest getting an IR gun to register the temps accurately. You'll be surprised how the temps change in a very small area. The probes are good for maintaining the ambient temps but you would have to place a probe in the exact area you are trying to get the temp at and leave it for awhile to really know. Which will also probably cause the dragon to move somewhere else. You can get 1 under $20 from amazon or a home depot type store.

well I got his basking temp back to 105*, checked with my ir gun. everything is is good, he just prefers his cool side over hot side now. when I feed him his feeders he will back for a few hours then back to cool side on his log. only thing different I'm doing is I'm weining hI'm off alot of his feeders trying to get him to eat his greens now that he's almost a year old.

well I just wanted to update everyone. gizmo is doing great now. the issue was that he absolutely loves his new log and it was on cool side. I moved his tank stuff around and put that log on the hot side, needless to say he's spending majority of his time on the warm side now lol.

yes he is crazy about that log. it's where he spends majority of his day and even sleeps way uo on top of it lol
