Hello I am a very new bearded dragon owner(picked her up last week).
Her name is Demi and she has started acting very weirdly. She is 1 years old and is scaring the sh*t out of me.

She started off last week being active and climbing up on her tree but for the last few days she has been laying on the floor, she does get up and about to eat her food. It's almost as if she's sleeping through the day. I have read up about brumation but do not believe that is what is happening as she will just lay flat on the floor under neath the basking lamp.

Her eyes are open i'm just worried that i'm doing something wrong.

She has been given a bath and I give her water through a pipet. The tank that she's in is from the previous owner. Also I have ordered a new UVB and a better basking lamp incase they might be the problem I have also ordered Tiles for the flooring as she is on news paper at the moment.

I have only seen her in the cool side twice but she doesn't use her hide or cool off she will just open her mouth to cool down.

SHE IS LITERALLY SCARING ME TO DEATH!!

First of all, congratulations on your new family member! I know how they can worry you to death, trust me! We can certainly help you get her set-up sorted out and put together correctly, typically there is something that needs tweaked, replaced, or changed around and then everything is good. But we need to know all the details of her enclosure, her UVB and basking light brand and type/model, the temperatures of the 3 important temperature zones inside her enclosure (cool side, hot side, and basking spot) and what type of thermometer you are using to read the temps, what her daily diet is, meaning both her staple insect and then what greens/veggies, and how often you feed her, how much, etc. and what supplement powders you are using and how often. And very important as well is you posting a few photos of her and her enclosure and lighting.

Typically the issue is related to the UVB lighting and/or the temperature zones. She's also just new and has only been with you for a week, so a little relocation stress is expected as well. It's better to get your enclosure and lighting correct now since you just got her, so it will be good from now on, and you'll only have to worry about changing out her UVB tube every 6 months from now on.

Also, just as an FYI, brumation is something that many, many people assume as the cause of what's wrong with their beardie when they become lethargic or stop eating, but 99% of the time it's not brumation. She's only a year old, and while it's possible it might be her getting ready to brumate, it's not probable.

Need more information , usually it only needs a few tweeks to the beardie's setup or some changes to the husbandry which are easy to do and things come good.

I've put together a cheat sheet that asks a lot targeted questions and provides some hints and tips , my beardie cheat sheet : viewtopic.php?f=6&t=234738&p=1806050#p1806050

It might look overwhelming , but if your work through the sheet methodically , and answer the questions in a much detail as you can , this will be big help to us in diagnosing your beardie's setup and spotting any husbandry issues (often noobs are given very bad advise by the seller).

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
