Hi, my beardie has always been active and lively but recently he's been hiding in his little rock cave for days on end. He comes out at nighttime to sleep in his designated sleep corner (which is the cooler side of the cave) but when he wakes up, soon after he crawls right back into his little cave to spend the rest of the day in the dark. I'm scared something is wrong with him because he used to be so active that it was actually annoying with him trying to climb the sides of the walls all the time. I can also hear him digging (or stratching) the sides of the cave when his inside it with his claws.
He will eat normally, I just feed him 18 crickets yesterday that he ate really fast like usual. But once he was done running around chasing them, he went right back inside. Im not sure what to do. Maybe the hot side is too hot? His cave is positioned under the heat lamp, he used to crawl on top of it to bask. Maybe im overreacting.
He's 3 years old
UVB: reptisun 10
heat: ZooMed 150 Watt
40 gallon breeder
repticarpet for substrate
hot side is usually 90-105 and cool side is around 70 degrees. Humidity is always less than 30, at night time it gets slightly higher around 40, but thats in the middle of the night when hes usually sleeping anyway.
diet: crickets occaisonally (once a week, or every two weeks) and a stable diet of collard greens every day. he usually eats until hes not hungry anymore and i dust his crickets with calcium and his greens twice a week.
