Ok new topic with more info

My beardie used to jump and run around go in and out of his hut/hide as he pleased but now it seems all he want to do it hide or sleep all day long unless he getting fed in which case he eats and the he hides again. This has been going on for about 3 or 4 months now and its starting to bug me. Even when i take him out he will sit there for about half hour/hour then he will find somewhere in my room to sleep (even found him on the A/C vent ice cold twice)

He has plenty of room in his tank 44"X24"x24", He has branches to climb on and a big rock to bask on aswell as some decorations nothying has changed since he moved in over a year ago.

Lghts are 1 150w basking light 1 24" reptisun 10.0 Tube light (18" off the floor) and a regular house light to brighten it up
Basking spot both 96F-98F on his rock and log and 84F on the cool side
light on from 7am - 8 am everyday and 7am - 6pm in the winter

Sometimes if i wake him up and move him he will bask for up to 2 hours but if he doesnt want to he will just hide or sleep and lately ive found that I have to ben the one to wake him up in the morning when he hides. He gets his green almost everyday(sometimes i get busy:( ) and super worm or pinkie mice every other day coated with calcium, as well as the odd horn worm for a treat, he also drink water regularly. He seems happy and aleart when he is up and about but i usually have to make him.

I dont really know what more to do, am i just dealing with a stuburn old man? lol (he only almost 3 years old had him since he was 1 month old)

Heres a picture of his setup without his hide you can see him in the corner just waking up.

He really likes the sand and I asked the breeder I bought him from and all his beardies are on sand and are fine with it.(I know someone will bring it up)

Thanks for reading and your future help.

Have you done a fecal test on him lately? Maybe you can give him a round of Reptaid to help stimulate. I guess brumation is a possibility, but I thought it was mainly in the fall/winter. I will be curious to see what others say.

Could be the amount of superworms you are feeding him, even every other day, superworms of that amount seems a bit much, impaction could start. But you are saying he poops, so that's all I got. I feed my year and few month old about 1 medium/large superworm every other day, like a candy bar for him.

I've herd of people feeding adult beardies about 35 a week but maybe ill switch up to pinkie mice he really likes those too. Crickets are hard for me to keep and my parents hate finding them. I've been letting him sleep in his hut the last 2 days while monitoring him he's been sound asleep in there but does wake up and look at me when I lift his hut sometimes I was going to give him another day and see how he's doing after that. Last weigh in a month ago he was 544 grams is that heavy for a 3 year old beardie?

maybe you should check his temperatures, you should also make sure he has plenty of UVB lighting on him. If his general cage temperature is below or above 85 degrees (F), that is not good, he should also have a basking area temperature of around 95 degrees (F)

Temps are good (posted in first post) I'm going to try feeding him only greens for a week or 2 and see how he like it today I woke him up brought him out then he went to sleep on the hot side of his tank I think it might just be me over feeding him super worms ill post my progress on him

What kind of poops is he having, color, watery/solid? How often? You really should take it easy on the super worms, they have no good nutritional value, they are junk food and are kinda hard on a beardies digestive track (could cause impaction).

Crickets and bearded dragon pellet food are good options. My beardie loves his pellet food mixed in with his greens. These two options can be staple foods. I feed my beardie about 10 crickets a day when I have them in supply, without that I use pellet food, just follow the instructions on the product bottle for serving size and etc.

I'm not saying stop feeding him super worms all together btw, just saying you should cut back on them, they can be harmful.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
