Hey guys how do i get my little dude to enjoy baths, cause right now i just put him in and he trys so hard to just get out, like he hates it, and how warm should the water be? I've heard to just put him in something he can't get outa but i feel bad forcing him to stay in water he hates being in.

You can use the sink or even the tub! I use a Rubbermaid bin the size of a shoebox! And the water should be a baby bath warm! Like 90-98 degrees! Good luck.

You can try leaving your hand in there for him to stand on, that should help reassure him a bit. The only problem you can have with this though, as I do with my beardie, is that he will often just climb up my arm to get out the bath. I fhe starts doing this before he's had his 20 minutes I just put him back and move my hand out the way.

Tbh, I wouldn't worry too much, my beardie often does the same, but his beard never gets black and he always seems happy after bath time. I just see it as a way for him to get some exercise. Also, it will just take time for him to get used to it :)

Yes i do the same, i leave my hand in sometimes he likes to put one foot on it to feel comfotable...
she hates baths too, constantly tries to get out, but then relaxes and starts to enjoy it....
but then normlly does a poo haha

Yeah my guy tries frantically to get out also but I don't let him out until he poos, around 15 minutes or so. It's a great way to keep cage cleaning down. I just bleach the heck out of the bin when he's done with it.

Had a HUGE problem with Kyle for a long time - she was practically hydrophobic.

I tried a towel in the bottom for grip, I tried a sponge to hang on to, I tried leaving my hand in there with her, I had Tsam in there to show her it was safe for dragons, I got in the bath WITH her, I tried her in smaller containers (sink, glass bowls etc), I tried lower water... I have it to the tops of her TOES and she'd STILL freak out.

So eventually I gave up. I ran a normal dragon-sized bath for her, dumped her in it and told her to get on with it. I watched over her for half an hour, occasionally topping it up with warm - and she finally relaxed and put her feet down.

She's now three years old and still occasionally freaks out about the water, but I just let her get on with it. She soon calms down when she realises her feet are on the floor!

Try all the above tactics. Failing that, let the silly beast freak out for a bit. :)

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
