Hello so my 8-10 mnth old beardie Rhaegar hasnt been eating all too well. On Christmas that was the last day he had eaten crickets. Monday we took him to the vet since he has been under his hammock or in his hide for most of the day. When hes out he runs around like crazy.

At the vet we found out that he was dehydrated, he may be a she, and he pooped so they took a fecal and he was negative for parasites and infection. He got some injections to give fluids and some vitamins. He was super upset when we got home and still seemed to be on Tuesday.

All if my husbandry is correct I changed the UVB to see if that was what was wrong and it wasnt. Can this possibly be brumation or him being stressed still from the vet?

The vet said in his physical that everythig was alright and that he was a good weight for his age.

I also forgot to mention he is about 15 1/2" and he FINALLY started shedding his cheeks.

My parents think he may be a little depressed as well since the last few days I have had the stomach flu and I have been unable to let him out as often. I have forgotten how to use XIMG so once I do I will post pics of the little guy!

Sometimes they go through phases of eating less and having less energy and it's not necessarily a problem. If the vet said he's a good weight for his size and no parasites that's a good sign. If he's dehydrated offering drops of water from a plastic syringe or dropper on his nose every day may help. If all else checks out it may just come down to being patient with him to bust out of his funk.

The vet has said to do daily baths for ~14 days. I try to do the nose thing but he never really laps any of it up. I tend to try to get him to drink when he is in the bath and I usually mist his salad but I guess I am going to have to add daily mistings as well at some point in his day.

Baths are good too if he drinks from them. If he isn't licking the water dripped on his nose then misting probably won't help either. He probably has enough hydration from food if he isn't drinking.

Update!!!!

I had my dad go out and get some baby food squash and told him how to dilute it and he ate! It seems as though he has eaten crickets as well but I cannot decode my dad's text messages.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
