Beardie Has Only Parts of Beard Black

Hi, in the recent couple days my bearded dragon, Elliot (about a year old) has been having only parts of his beard be black. I was assuming it would be for shed but it’s been a few days and it hasn’t gone away. I’m more so just asking for reassurance as I do think that it’ll go away when he sheds. His diet consists of mealworms, hornworms, assorted amounts of leafy greens, the occasional tomato or piece of pineapple (hes rather picky so I haven’t been able to get him on anything else). His enclosure is 36x18x18. I have him on a T5 UVB that I’m changing the bulb for pretty soon. The T 5 is in the tank or on top of screen ? Distance and placement is crucial for the UVB -- basking temps need to be 95-110 a gradient heat is good to offer instead of one heat temp and that temp needs to be taken w/ a digital probe thermometer --- the black beard could be cause of many things so first lets rule out the lighting

Hi there,

Can you post another picture? It's hard to really see the beard in the first picture. But what it looks like is some type of fungal issue or injury. Another picture will help.
