My beardie is about 5 yo and she started having diarrhea probably a few weeks ago, it’s green and pure liquid and stinks so so bad which I read can be a parasite ? it also had little to no urate most of the time. I thought it might be what I fed her that week (turnip greens which I don’t think she’s ever had before then) so I stopped giving her that. She still had diarrhea and she would have it almost every single day and she doesn’t usually even poop everyday. It got solid again and had the urate for a couple poops and then went back to pure green liquid again a few days ago but today it was slightly more solid. She is still as active as she always has been so she doesn’t seem like she’s sick. Idk what to do I don’t have the $ to do a fecal test and vets aren’t even seeing pets because of the pandemic. Please help I’m so worried. Also she has a reptisun uvb strip across the entire length of her 55 gallon and she can get as close as 6” from it. Her day temp is around 110*F on the hot side and her night light went out a little bit ago and I have to get the money for that now too, but her current night temp is in the low 70s but that didn’t cause the diarrhea because it went out after she already started having diarrhea. She laid infertile eggs about a month or so ago idk if that could possibly have anything to do w it but the diarrhea started like a couple weeks after she laid them.

Hello,

Goodness, your poor girl, is she losing weight? That is a long time to have diarrhea though,
which will dehydrate her. Are you getting fluids into her at all?
Are you feeding any types of fruits right now? Too much fruit can cause diarrhea, but it does
sound like possibly protozoan or flagelletes, or even coccidia. You aren't able to get a basic
fecal? Do you have any probiotics at home, such as non dairy acidophiliz or non dairy soy
yogurt to help settle her tummy?
For now, I would keep her a little warmer overnight, around 75-80 to help boost her immune
system right now.

I know I feel horrible for her :(. As far as I can tell she’s not losing weight but I will start weighing her more frequently than I do. And for the fluids I give her baths when I can and most her veggies. She’s not eating any fruit right now, I don’t have any non dairy probiotics :/ maybe I can get some today, I didn’t know they could have soy yogurt! How can I give that to her and will it help? And ok I will make it warmer for her! I don’t think I can get a fecal done but I lll see if I can get one in, im not really sure if I have a beardie bet anywhere near me. Tysm for the reply I have no idea what to do ?

try this site and see if you can find a vet -- I would call around and see if you can find a vet that will or can do a fecal on your dragon --- find out if you can drop one off and how much it would cost-- or maybe they may know of a reptile vet

Hello,

How is your girl doing today? Were you able to get some probiotics for her today?
Wow so you don't have any dog or cat vets in your local area?
One thing you can try to help reduce parasite levels would be to use a mix of mint,
basil, parsley, & oregano to help reduce levels, naturally.
Has she eaten anything today?

I wasn’t able to find the soy stuff and I read not to give that to them, but I also read that you can give it to them so I’m not sure what to do there. And I have dog and cat vets near me but I guess none of them see beardie and I’ll try those foods today. She ate her whole bowl of food today, yes. I soaked her for a very long time yesterday and she seems more active, I’m thinking of getting these two things will they help? I read that these two things should do the trick.

UPDATE!!!: I didn’t get any probiotics, I didn’t go to the vet or anything. I literally only had to spend $10 on parsley, mint and oregano. A few days ago I started feeding ONLY those veggies, mealworms and some crickets. My girl didn’t poop for a couple of days and I noticed she was SO bright and active, which was a good sign already because this week she was pooping every single day and it was a lot of green liquidy, smelly diarrhea and she was a bit lethargic and dark. But I just went to her tank 10 minutes ago to find a nice big firm poop that wasn’t green and did not smell at all it also had a urate this time! (Gross sorry). But thanks so much Drache613 for the suggestion it literally changed everything and I’m so so so relieved and I’m sure my beardie is too!! Saved me a ton of money and a trip to the vet on top of that. I was so worried I thought I might not have her much longer but now I know she’s fine ??? (I also got her night light working that helped a lot too)

It’s not an actual light my bad. It’s a heat emitter, I use it because it’s pretty cold I there at night like low 70s usually high 60s the heat emitter makes it 80 degrees. So no visible light :)

Ok good but you want temps at nite in the 70's- 80 is too warm unless your dragon is sick

Ok, thanks Karrie! That’s good to know I always want to make sure both my beardies are happy! But I’m just curious now because she is always sleeping directly under the heat emitter like she’s trying to get more heat maybe, even though it’s 80 degrees in therez She’s done this since I got her 4 years ago and she’s super healthy. But my other beardie I got a few months ago, who’s almost 4 months old, sleeps on the cold side of his cage. Do they all have different preferences for temps to sleep in at night? Also my female sleeps in her cave most of the time but sometimes on top right under the emitter but my baby likes to sleep out in the open so it seems like he likes to sleep where it’s cooler and she likes of sleep where it’s warmer.

It's hard to say and yes they will pick where they want to sleep-- mine will sleep all over the tank sometimes under the basking lamp at nite on the floor or they will sleep in their caves where it's cooler - depends on their moods I guess- if your tank is below 65 you would need the heat emitter otherwise I would shut it off at nite and see what she does

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
