Hello, this is my first topic, so I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, but here goes:
I got my first bearded dragon about probably a month. He is around 7.87 inches in lenght, so I deduce he's probably around 3 months old? Since the beginning that he has glass surfed, but it was usually associated with a poop in his terrarium, hunger or just wanting to get out. He eventually calmed down and it wouldn't be much frequent for him to do this.
In the past week he has started glass surfing a lot again and sometimes, when I open the acrylic door, he "follows" it and keeps on surfing. First I check for poop and if there is one, I clean it up. With or without poop he continues to do it. So, the next thing I do, is check if he's hungry. Even if there are always greens in his bowl all the time and I feed him first thing in the morning some roaches and mealworms, I offer him some more dubias or worms, but he refuses them (he may eat one or two, but that's it). Also, I've noticed that he hasn't been eating so much in the past days! The bowl with the greens and veggies has been left untouched...
So, since it isn't hunger, I let him out a bit for a quick run, but he starts going crazy, wanting to jump onto the window. Since he loves to peak at the window, I let him do it a little bit but he starts glass surfing at the window! When he begins to do this, I put him back in the terrarium or just pick him up and walk around with him and he still goes crazy, trying to jump out of my hand and run away...
Also, I don't think he has been basking properly. He has been hiding a lot and I have to force him out of the hide so he can bask. But guess what, he stars glass surfing or running around in his terrarium...
I've been researching a lot and I can't find any cases that are similar to mine so I'm really lost here. And since I' a new beardie owner, the last thing I want to do is to screw up.
Aditional info:
As far as I can tell, he has been pooping at least twice a day, and it seems like solid stools.
Temps: cool side 80/82 F and basking spot 102 F (lately dropping to 98/99, so I've now replaced the 50 watt basking lamp with a 100 W to try to raise the temps...)
Humidity between 18% to 30%
Terrarium: size 33 inches x 14 inches x 16 inches, made of wood with acrylic door
Lighting: Basking Spot Lamp (50 or 100 W) from the Trixie brand and Exoterra Repti-glo 150 UVB 25 W (compact)
