Beardie flipping out after being outside!!

I took my beardie outside on a towel after his bath,he quickly puffed up and flipped out and run under the grill.I took him inside and he ran under my bed,i got him in his tank and after tried to pick him up and he ran all over his tank, his heart is racing. Is he okay?

Something may have startled him. Perhaps a bird or helicopter overhead or something like that. He will likely calm down soon and be OK though. Might want to go easy on time outside for a little while and maybe work back up to it with time on a window sill.

So wait until tomorrow to hold him? He wouldnt eat after either.

It might be a good idea to give him some space for a bit until he calms back down. I'd just try to react to his behavior on that one. It sounds like he was just spooked though so he should be OK.

We've seen a couple stories of this exact same thing happening. Its usually something up in the sky like cooper mentioned like a bird. They are their natural predators so it's expected to freak them out, especially if they are not used to being outside.

Unfortunately, how long it takes them to get over their scare is really dragon dependent. They all react differently. Hopefully yours gets over it quickly
