Hey guys, I'm not sure how urgent this is but its the first time something looks like it might be wrong with my beardie, so i'm a tad worried :?

I woke up this morning to my beardie seeming like he has some form of eye issue, he will still open the eye, but he prefers to have it shut, and i'm wondering if it might be something serious or minor enough to go away. Nothing has changed as far as his environment or diet, and the only slight factor I can think of is a weather change. Any ideas what this might be? Couple of pictures including one of his good eye for comparison

Is the Reptisun a linear or compact/coil?
If your dragon has shed fairly recently there is a possibility of there being shed in it's eye, you can take dampened Q-tip and gently run it over the dragons eye lid, this will provide the eye with moisture and help in relieving any debris. Also can use a saline solution or contact safe eye drops, put a drop on the dragons eye, this is somewhat tricky to do by yourself.
On the other hand is the Reptisun 10.0 is a compact or coil this may also cause issues in the dragons eye(s).
Is the basking bulb red or?

sorry for the mis-clarification, its linear, runs along his terrerium and he has a perch which does close to the same, so at one point he can get really close if he wants or further away, i see him at different spots so i'm guessing he self-regulates himself. The basking bulb is a standard blue colored, so nothing in particular. I'm going to try the q-tip right now, but i was wondering if it might be another underlying issue, where he might need to go to the vet or should i give it a bit longer to see if it clears up after i Q-tip?

Definately give the Q-tip a try, just be gentle.
you mean blue blue or the slightly blue colored glass but, gives of white/clear light?
If you mean blue colored light, blue bulb. I would swap it out. You can use household bulbs so long they are of vivid/natural daylight in coloration. Stay away from soft white colored bulbs.

Wait you said that the basking light is blue? Did you mean that it's a standard white bulb that appears to put off blue?
If not an it's actually a blue bulb then....Colored lights are not good for beardies...for the health of beardies eyes you need to use a bright crisp white light. Just thought I brainstorm with ya...

EDIT: Lagged submitting

Bah so much misclarification, i'm sorry again :( was also thinking of my snake who has a blue colored giving off white light heating lamp..

I doublechecked and I did get my beardie its either a 100 wat or 75 wat, he's in a 40 gal breeder so it helps regulate the temp properly for me, and its a standard basking light from zoo med, get them at my local petsmart, i'm sorry again for all the misclarification :( But as I said he's had this same setup since he's been a baby, for about 2+ months now and this issue never showed up, just started today, not sure if that means anything or not. Also like I said he's still opening the eye fairly fully and looking out of it, but he prefers it closed, and the bottom flap (i guess flap?) of the eye seems a bit bigger/swollen than his other eye

I would watch the eye for further irritation, do the Q-tip with warm water, 2-3 times a day. Also you can pick up the eyes drops as I stated or use a saline solution.
It could be that some shed had gotten in under the eye lid and is now starting to cause a bit of an issue or there is another source of irritant like a scratch.

Great news! I Q-tiped his eye, and came back about 30 minutes later to find what appeared to be a ball of skin (moistened) under the eye in question, so it was that and it came out. I Q-tiped the other eye as well, as there was shedding around it, and so everything should be great now. He's still not liking to have that eye opened, but it fully opens now to the size of the good eye, so I'm guessing its just slightly irritated and that should go away soon.

Thanks again for all your help!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
