Hello,
my beardie doesnt seem to eat much all he does is bask i started out using crickets then he went off them and onto locusts, i had to feed him with the tweezers as he wouldnt hunt them but now he as stopped eating fully, i tried getting him to eat some mealworms he had a few but doesnt eat anymore that was 2 days ago i always put some veg in the cage and have tried leaving some mealworms in the cage in a small plastic container,
i dont think he eats the meal worms or the veg,

Lighting:Reptisun 10.0 i use a white basking light for day time and red at night

i bathed him today, rubbed his belly and he pooped which made me happy as i thought it could be impaction even tho the white stuff in his poo had abit of yellow in it?

hes just over 9 inch and 10 week old

DOn't feed him mealworms. What is that substrate I see? IF it is loose substrate, get rid of it. Loose substrate and mealworms can cause impaction.Get newspaper, reptile carpet or papertowels.
What are his hot side and cool side temps--and how are the temps taken ?
How long have you had him?
Do you dust his feeeders?
How often do you feed him? 2-3x a day as many as he will eat in 10 mins
Glad to hear you gave him a bath. He should be bathed for 10-20 mins every couple of days a tthe minimum

i use crushed walnuts and the temps are about 40C in the warm side and 30C in the cool i dont think its anything to do with impaction becuase he poops regulary

Crushed Walnut shells are a BIG NO NO for any beardie! 2 reasons: impaction but also harbors bacteria.
I am not familiar with C. BUt F he should be a 100-110 on the basking spot and 80 on the cool side. How are you taking the temperatures?

How do you try to feed him-hand, put in a dish or other?

too warm, too cold, partial to full impaction, etc.

Hi, I wanted to pop in here and explain why crushed walnut shells are so dangerous. They contain pieces of shell that are like glass. If it is ingested, it can cut their insides as it moves further down and can also cut their intestines as they try to pass it. It would be much safer to use a solid substrate like reptile carpet, non-adhesive shelf liner, or slate tiles.

Could you fill us in on the type of thermometer you're using to check the temps? Also, is the Repti-Sun a coil/compact or strip fluorescent bulb and what is the distance of that particular bulb?

im using the strip flourescent bulb and its about 6"inch to 8" from basking spot. he even gets closer as he climbs up the background

Good to hear that you're using the fluorescent tube. The distance is fine but he shouldn't be able to get any closer than the 6 to 8" especially if he stays closer for any length of time.

Yes, it's important that we find out the thermometer details as if the temps aren't right, it can affect their total health.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
