Hi guys, I have a beardie who was purchased from a pet store about 6 months ago.. I'd estimate that he's about 7-8 months old. He hates basking... I have tried EVERYTHING to get him to bask, I've adjusted temps between 100-115 degrees, I've tried different things for him to bask on, I've tried different light fixtures, I've tried swapping which side of his terrarium the basking light is on... everything to no avail. I am concerned because about a month ago, we did have a fecal done because he was not digesting his protein properly, it came back as elevated coccidia and pin worms... The medication cycle has since been complete, but he still doesn't have a solid poop. He is fed reptiworms (30, twice a day) and a mix of fresh veggies in the morning with his first batch of reptiworms. The reptiworms are coming out almost completely whole. Everything else about him is normal, he eats voraciously, he has plenty of energy, he is not losing weight, but not really gaining it either. He is about 20" long from nose to tip of tail and I believe the vet said he was 348 grams. Here's a couple of pictures of him for reference:
And for the sake of comparison, here is our female... she is fed an identical diet as he is, every once in a while there are some reptiworms undigested in her poop, but not every single time like the male... she was ordered from Underground Reptiles and has put on quite a bit of weight since we got her, but I'd say shes pretty healthy... even though she is doing an impression of a beached whale in the picture I've posted.
