so ive noticed for a week my beardie who i think is around 2-3 months old is closing one of his eyes alot more then the other. when he basks he closes the eye the eye opens fine when he starts moving around and when i take him out he will open the eye but then he closes it again when i start petting him

i have a custon built terrarium and using a 125w solar glo heat+uvb bulb
there is no substrate in it

i cannot get him to eat any greens either or fruit i tried a few different things but he wont touch it just eats crickets and mealworms( i know meals are not the best but i felt he was a little skinny so the local petstore said they may help fatten him up and it did)

i dont always put water in his dish but he gets a bath about every 3-4 days and doesnt drink from the dish anyway

i noticed theres a bit of goo on the eye now and using search i found similar problems no exact solutions
maybe he doesnt get enough vitamins? he wont eat any greens and my local pet store has been out of vitamins for a while think this may be the problem?

Hi. Are you using any other light? Have you tried washing out his eye with sterile plain eye solution? You can also try turtle drops.

thanks for replying no i use just the 1 light i was told by the pet store that the solar glo 125 w gave uvb and enough heat i use a temperature tester that u point so i know its accurate

i haven't tried any eye drops do u think it will help? i finally got some vitamin powder so i dusted the crickets with it today, also not sure if it matters but he shed probably 2 weeks ago but i havent noticed the eye until the last few days not sure how long it was like this

i catch him rubbing his head on the same side that he closes the eye on off his log sometimes
the other eye seems fine and is always open

ok ill do that im also gonna get a reptisun 10.0 and put that in will it be ok to keep the solarglo 125w as heat since i read it doesnt give much uvb?

I don't see why not as long as the solarglo is not causing the eye problems. You could just to experiment and once you get the reptisun tube put a regular white house hold bulb(not the energy efficient) and see what happens.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
