Does anyone know of of where I could purchase a heated pet carrier for my beardie? I have tired amazon, eBay, chewy and some other little websites and I can't find one..
Hi there, if you can't find one they make not actually make one.
But where + when would you be using ? Do you live in a very cold area and plan to take your dragon out with you or is this more for vet visits + things like that ? If so, you can buy handwarmers at Walmart for a low price . They come in 10, 12, 18 and I think 20 hr. heat release. They get very hot so would have to be wrapped in newspaper or soft cloth+ taped lightly so beardie can't come in direct contact with it.
Or you could use the kind that are made for shipping animals, they come in 20, 30, 40 + 60 hr. heat release. These don't get too hot [ like the handwarmers do ] but provide heat for much longer. The 60 hour don't get as warm as the rest of them. Here's where you can get them.
I use a carrier like this.
It's not heated, but you can use hand warmers as AHBD suggested, or use a small plug-in heating pad under or folded inbetween a fleece blanket.
When I would take my dragons to the vet in winter, I just folded a fleece blanket around my heating pad as mentioned above, but my car has an outlet. I also did not use these same carriers in winter. I'll probably wrap fleece around it in winter so the cold air can't penetrate it so much
