Beardie cameo in Capital One Commercial

that really bothers me. i saw a turtle shell in there, and i am not sure if the snakes were real or not since it was a short clip.

Just to say, I'm sure that was just special effects. They likely had the beardie in a special harness and dangled him for a couple seconds in order to get the shot needed. Maybe not even that with what can be done with computers and cameras these days. Could be wrong, but not everyone making commercials is cruel :/

Yeah, it doesn't create a realistic picture, but I don't think the beardie was in any real danger or discomfort.

Aha that actually made me chuckle, but i did have a bit of a fit trying to figure out what was real in the machine and what wasn't..i'm thinking the snakes weren't, but the turtles and other beardies looked like they were -.- i had to keep backtracking to that point to see..

I work in television and have owned my own small business creating commercials for many years. I very much doubt this beardie was dangling from that claw. There are many ways this shot could have been achieved

Hurray .....I hope it was CG or some special effects because that is just wrong if they really pick that little one up like that. I hope you all are right

Video editing is a wonderful career & hobby. It wasn't a "real" shot. Besides, anyone talented enough to actually pick anything up (let alone a wiggly reptile) using the claw deserves a medal.

It's a cute commercial. Whenever I see it I think about how broke I'd be. Really...who could resist that machine? :wink:

Yeah, I wouldn't be able to resist that machine xD I can't resist regular claw machines. Seems like it would be similar to the goldfish you win at the carnival...Where I would have to be dragged away by the arm with my mom saying "No more pets for you!"

I've seen this on tv only a few times. Everytime it comes on, I tell my boyfriend "look, a beardie!" and he misses it everytime. We always forget what camercial it is until the end when it shows it, then it's too late. ha.
