Beardie baby won't poop in viv

Hello everyone. Not that this is a worride post or anything just kinda interesting. Has anyone ever had or heard of a bearded dragon just about refusing to poop in their enclosure? My first one didn't do that he just went wherever. This is my second and he seems to actually hold it till I bring him out. I've had him 2 weeks and he's gone in his enclosure maybe 3 times. But he goes every day somewhere he deems to be his toilet. Lol. I've taken to giving him a warm bath after his first feed every morning so he just goes there and it goes down the drain. Just thought it was interesting and never heard of a reptile doing this.

He's no dumby .... doesn't want to skink out his home .... :)

Another beardie quirk is to poo in the water dish .... they soon discover a submerged poo aint so smelly.

All my skinks and beardies kick up a fuss if they can't hold on any longer and soil their tanks. Demanding out and removal of the offensive object. usually they will leave their deposit on the lino floor in the kitchen .... usually in a fav spot.

Very typical lizard behavior actually, they don't poo in their territory .... I've had wild water skinks visiting inside every summer for years, and they very rarely poo on the carpet, kitchen floor or lounge or even under the lounge (we've never found a poo there)....(yes they like to sit on the lounge seats , cushions and headrests to watch us, the pet lizards, guests, and even the TV) ,

I agree, it's pretty normal. Try working on a routine of putting him somewhere that is easy to clean up from like vinyl flooring. This tends to work better with adults when they go once a day (usually, at most) and are more regular. But you can try it with a little guy if he's already showing he wants out. If you train him to go in a specific area then he will learn to (more often than not) go there so it's easier for your to clean. Take advantage of this "quirk" =)

My dude is a little over a year and won't poo in his house unless he absolutely has too. He has a "poo" box that he uses, but he seems to like to poo on the carpet as well. I think it's a good butt dragging surface.im gonna buy stock in resolve though.

Eren went through a period where he would hold it in until I took him out, where he would immediately proceed to poop on my floor. Keeping up the routine of letting him go in the bath is a good idea, you can basically train them to only go in the bath.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
