Beardie and enclosure decor question

I have a beardie baby about 6 months old or so and I recently took him out of the 20 gallon tank and into a 40 gallon tank and bought him bigger things to bask on but he stays on this little tree stump looking thing that he would bask on in his old cage and won't go near the new rock and tree stump. I was just wondering if anyone knew why he's doing this?

It's likely relocation stress and the previous tree stump is familiar and "safe" to him.

Give him a few weeks and he'll probably start climbing and sitting on the new decor once he has settled in to his new home.

He is doing it because it is something familiar to him, something from his home world. It will take time for him to settle in but it will happen "just a little relocation stress".

How are things setup?
He may prefer the posture it gives him, or it's taller, or it's a better temperature or he is more accustomed to it. Could be lots of things.
